Full Description

A blend of Yunnan black tea and rose petals, Kiss from a Rose is a smooth, malty tea with soft floral notes that subtly round off every sip.

First introduced as a limited Valentine’s Day release in 2022, its enduring popularity has earned it a permanent place in our black tea collection. The combination of robust black tea and delicate floral accents offers a distinctive experience that can be enjoyed both with and without milk.

Yunnan, often regarded as the spiritual home of tea, produces black teas with complexity and clarity - characteristics that shine through in this blend. The rose petals complement this by lifting the cup with a gentle sweetness and fragrance creating a harmonious tea suited to everyday enjoyment and special occasions.

Ingredients

The base of Kiss from a Rose is Yunnan black tea, grown in the mountainous southwest of China. Yunnan is considered one of the world’s most historic tea-growing regions. Its landscape of mist-covered hills, fertile soils, and a humid subtropical climate provides the ideal conditions for cultivating tea. The region is also home to some of the oldest tea trees in existence, with deep-rooted cultivars that contribute to the distinctive depth and sweetness found in its teas.

Yunnan black teas are celebrated for their golden-tipped leaves and naturally rich character. They are known for smooth notes of malt, cocoa, and honeyed sweetness, all underpinned by a clean, full body. These qualities make them some of the most admired black teas in China and a natural choice for blending.

The addition of rose petals introduces a delicate floral aroma that enhances the tea’s natural sweetness without masking its depth. In China, rose has long been valued in both tea and traditional wellness practices, where it is often infused to support relaxation and balance. In this blend, the petals lend a gentle perfume and soft finish, harmonising beautifully with the warmth of the Yunnan base.
