Full Description

Our high-grade Bai Mu Dan represents one of the finest white peony teas available outside China. This exceptional harvest contains a high proportion of silver needle-like buds alongside the leaves, highlighting the skill and care that has made Bai Mu Dan a benchmark for quality in its homeland.

Unlike the more widely known Silver Needle, this high grade peony balances the delicacy of young buds with the structure of accompanying leaves. The result is a style of white tea prized for its refinement and complexity. By offering this rare harvest in the UK, we aim to introduce drinkers to a tea that embodies tradition, meticulous craftsmanship, and exclusivity.

This high-grade Bai Mu Dan is a tea to be appreciated at leisure. Its carefully curated composition and limited availability make it a standout choice for those seeking a tea with pedigree, heritage, and character.

Origin

Sourced from the Fuding region in Fujian province, China, this Bai Mu Dan comes from an area long celebrated as the spiritual home of white tea. Fuding’s mountainous terrain, fertile soil, and humid climate create ideal conditions for tea cultivation. The region has been producing white tea for centuries, with a deep-rooted history of cultivating specific cultivars prized for their young buds and leaves.

Fuding Bai Mu Dan is recognised for its distinctive balance of buds and leaves. This combination allows the tea to develop complexity and character while remaining elegant and refined. By sourcing from this renowned region, we are able to share a tea that carries centuries of tradition and expertise.

Processing

This Bai Mu Dan is produced using the traditional processing methods of Fuding white tea. Silver needle buds and their accompanying leaves are hand-plucked to preserve integrity and quality. The leaves undergo a gentle withering and controlled oxidation process that enhances the natural qualities of the buds while retaining the subtle structural characteristics of the leaves.

The result is a tea with clarity and depth, showcasing the meticulous care applied from plucking to final packaging. Each step in the process ensures that the unique balance of this high-grade Bai Mu Dan is maintained, offering a tea of exceptional pedigree and rare quality.
