Meghalaya - Lakyrsiew

Autumn 2024 - Limited Harvest

You may never try a tea more delicious than this.

This delicate yet rich infusion hails from the state of Meghalaya in India. Nestled between two of the world's most famous tea-producing regions, Darjeeling and Assam, it’s no surprise that tea cultivation was originally intended for Meghalaya by the British. However, due to local opposition, their attention shifted to the neighbouring regions, which ultimately became renowned for their tea. Today, Meghalaya is producing some of the best black teas in the world.

Our limited harvest comes from the Lakyrsiew farm (which translates as "The Awakening"). Lakyrsiew have produced a small lot with exceptional attention to detail during processing and harvesting.

This particular tea is an autumn harvest, as opposed to the more common and establish spring/summer harvests, and stands out as one of our best black teas.

Opening with subtlety and sweetness, it is followed by rich notes of chocolate, caramel, and honey. This smooth black tea is best enjoyed without milk.

If you’re looking to impress, this is the refined option.
