Puerh tea is so different to other teas. Those that truly love Puerh tea find that its appeal is not just in its unique flavours and textures, but also in the way it soothes both mind and body. It has been touted as a weight loss miracle, originally by the Chinese and more recently by celebrities. Puerh teas can be aged for up to 50 years in humidity- and temperature-controlled conditions to produce teas that have a typically earthy, mature, smooth flavour and aroma.
The teas are named after Puerh city in Yunnan province which was once the main trading centre for teas made in the area.
