Classic style Japanese tea made with roasted leaves from Autumn and Winter harvests. A classic processing style from Japan, delivering the warmth in a cup.

A refined version of bancha, which is a popular everyday tea in Japan. While it looks dark, Houjicha is technically a green tea, offering a uniquely smooth flavour with accents of chocolate, coffee and roasted barley. 

Although less well known than matcha and sencha, we feel that a Houjicha loose leaf tea should be a  key part of every Japanese tea collection.

Store your tea in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep pouches sealed between uses to preserve flavour and character. Most teas remain enjoyable after their best-before date, though blends with added flavours may lose their intensity after this date.
