2011 has seen our best Darjeelings to date. For both spring and summer harvests (1st and 2nd flush respectively) we have decided to go with the Makaibari estate. They are both picks of the season, and exceptional. We have never before used the same estate for both flushes. We also thought it would be good for you to see what impact seasonality has on the flavour of tea. Nowehere else is it highlighted as much than with tea from Darjeeling.
Adding to this, we have an Autumn harvest (3rd flush). This is from the neighbouring state to Darjeeling, Meghalaya. Whereas Makaibari estate has hundreds of years of heritage, the tea from Meghalaya (Lakyrsiew estate) is from a farm that is less than 10 years old! The tea is rare and divine.
You can try all three against each other when you buy the Indian tea gift pack.
