We set out in 2008 to present amazing teas in an everyday space - and the first teahouse was then born.

Following soon after this and the rise of specialty cafe culture, we began supplying our friends in the industry.

Most tea that lands on our shores has been through a number of hands, mainly European tea powerhouses - who buy big lots from big farms and then sell on.

Our approach to business is to pay homage to small suppliers and to retain that local impact. Whether that means buying from a local greengrocer in Wales, or a small farm holding in India - we believe that keeping money in the hands of small and local operators as opposed to paying conglomerates is the most impactful way of doing business. We find that when big companies get in the middle of growers and end users that they extract money and in the long term decrease quality.

So, tea...

All of our teas are imported direct from origin. We work with farmers and local brokers who we have established relationships with for over 15 years.

We order small amounts and often so that we can ensure the tea is fresh. This is key for us to be able to communicate the difference between good tea and commodity grade tea.For example, our matcha we could order once a year just after harvest. Instead we order 4 times per year and have the matcha ground to order. 

Other teas, such as our Darjeeling first flush or our Meghalaya Autumn flush - we eagerly await samples of invoices (harvests) so that we can try and choose our favourites to showcase to you.

Why are we different? 

Due to having a number of teahouses we are able to move large volumes of good tea, which sets us apart from other wholesalers. We also have created a portfolio to encompass teas for beginners as well as those who are further along in their journey. Our goal is to meet those entering our world at a point where they are comfortable, and then help them to level up (eg moving to a higher quality breakfast tea) or to graduate to different processing styles and brew methods.

As a result of all of this we are able to pass on our teas at a much lower cost vs other quality tea merchants.
