Art Exhibitions at Waterloo Tea

At Waterloo Tea, we believe that art and community go hand in hand. Since opening our doors, supporting the arts has been as much a part of our mission as serving exceptional tea, coffee, and food. Our teahouses are more than spaces for refreshment - they are vibrant hubs where creativity, culture, and conversation come together.

A Space for Local and International Artists

Every month, we host art exhibitions across all our teahouses, giving local and international artists a chance to display their work in front of a broad and diverse audience. We understand how disheartening it can be to see gallery spaces underused or inaccessible. That’s why we aim to make art more visible, approachable, and integrated into daily life.

The exhibitions vary widely in style and medium, featuring everything from painting and photography to sculpture and mixed media. We welcome applications from all artists, whether you are exhibiting for the first time or are globally renowned. To apply, simply email art@waterlootea.com with examples of your work and the teahouses where you could display your art.

Connecting Art, Community, and Charity

Art at Waterloo Tea is not just for display; it is a way to give back. From each exhibition, artists are invited to nominate a charity of their choice, and we donate a percentage of all sales on their behalf. This approach allows visitors to support both the artist and a meaningful cause simultaneously. Over the years, we are proud to have raised thousands of pounds for good causes thanks to the generosity of artists and customers alike.

Some of our exhibitions also include launches, which allow artists to invite their own communities and networks to celebrate their work. These events create meaningful connections between artists, patrons, and the local community, bringing life to our teahouses and providing valuable exposure for the creatives involved.

Inclusive and Accessible Art Spaces

We are passionate about making art accessible to everyone. Traditional galleries can sometimes feel exclusionary, whether due to location, cost, or atmosphere. At Waterloo Tea, we strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcome to engage with art. By integrating exhibitions into spaces with high footfall, we maximize the audience for each artist and allow everyday visitors to encounter new, inspiring works alongside their favourite teas and coffees.

“I don’t know much about art, but I know what I like.” This ethos guides our approach - art should be enjoyed, appreciated, and experienced without barriers.

Building Long-Term Community Impact

Our alumni of artists includes a diverse mix of local talent, first-time exhibitors, and established names. By hosting exhibitions regularly, we aim to embed art deeply within the community while fostering a culture of collaboration and connection.

Although we are fully booked through 2026, we are currently taking applications for 2027, and we are eager to expand our impact further. If you are an artist, a community organisation, or someone passionate about the arts and collaboration, we encourage you to reach out. Together, we can continue to make art visible, celebrated, and meaningful for all.
