Description

Mint Rooibos combines South African rooibos with peppermint and a small dash of bergamot oil to create a refreshing herbal infusion with plenty of character. The gentle sweetness of rooibos softens the cooling freshness of peppermint, while bergamot adds a subtle citrus lift that brings the blend together.

This is a naturally caffeine-free tea that works particularly well after food. Its balanced profile makes it an excellent accompaniment to rich meals, chocolate desserts, citrus cakes and biscuits, while remaining equally enjoyable as an everyday herbal infusion.

Why do mint teas pair so well with food? Peppermint has long been enjoyed after meals for its clean, refreshing character, whilst rooibos contributes natural sweetness without becoming overpowering. Together they create a versatile blend that complements food rather than competing with it.

Ingredients

Mint Rooibos brings together just three carefully chosen ingredients: long cut rooibos, peppermint and bergamot oil. Each plays a distinct role in creating the finished blend.

Long Cut Rooibos
Grown exclusively in the Cederberg region of South Africa, rooibos is naturally caffeine free and valued for its naturally rounded character. Its gentle sweetness provides the foundation of this blend while allowing the other ingredients to remain clearly defined.

Peppermint
Peppermint brings freshness and a clean finish to the cup. It has been enjoyed in herbal infusions for centuries and is one of the world's most recognisable botanicals, pairing particularly well with both sweet and savoury foods.

Why is peppermint often served after meals?
Peppermint has been enjoyed as an after-dinner infusion for centuries, particularly across Europe and North Africa. Today, it remains one of the world's most popular herbal teas to finish a meal, valued for its refreshing character and ability to complement a wide variety of foods.

Bergamot Oil
A small amount of bergamot oil introduces a delicate citrus aroma that brightens the blend without dominating it. Better known for defining the character of Earl Grey tea, it works equally well alongside peppermint and rooibos.

Brewing the Perfect Cup

Leaf: 1g per 100ml water

Water Temperature: 100°C

Infusion Time: 4–6 minutes

Mint Rooibos is naturally caffeine free and well suited to any time of day. It can be enjoyed hot using the recommendations above, cold brewed, or prepared as an iced tea.

To cold brew, use the same leaf ratio but use cold fresh water instead of boiling water and leave it in the fridge for a 1-2 hours (or even overnight for a fuller-tasting brew).

For iced tea, brew using the guidance above and allow the leaves to steep as the tea cools. Once chilled, pour over ice and garnish with a slice of orange. Add a little sugar syrup if you prefer a sweeter finish.

Its refreshing profile also makes it an excellent accompaniment to summer lunches, barbecues and citrus-based desserts.
